Fall in a few sweet bites!

I baked these amazing little pumpkin cakes for a festive happy hour we had today at SNO. I must tell you that these are the most delicious cupcakes I may have ever made, and they're from scratch! No boxes. No mixes. Just Fall in the palm of your hand. Lots of love goes to Cup of Joe and Patent and the Pantry for the recipe!

Feeling of the moment

Love Love Love Love Love. Is there really anything more to life than love? Even tho it's Halloween tomorrow (not Valentine's Day), I couldn't resist posting a sweet note about my favorite thing.

Kitschy Kitty

Halloween is almost here!  I've really been racking my brain about what to be. Where's Waldo? Carmen San Diego perhaps? Why is it I always seem to come up with the best ideas during summer, far from when my favorite holiday is here?!   While I continue to flip thru the pages of witches, maids, and vampires I think I'll dress Luna (mon chat) in this adorable little get up.

Pop-A-Wheelie

"Can you pass the butter?"

"More syrup please."

"Is there salt on the table?"

All the wonderful questions heard during breakfast. This super sweet and ingenious idea was created  by the clever folks at Ready Made (quite possibly one of the coolest magazines).  I just love how quarky this feels on the table, dont you?

Hydrangea No. 3602

The side of my childhood house was lined with blue and purple hydrenga's. They're one of the most beautiful flowers. Big and bushy, yet gentle and subtle with a hint of shyness. I came across Kari Herer's Hydrangea No. 3602 and wanted to share the loveliness that these flowers bring. Even posting this made me inhale, then sigh a sort of dreamy calmness.

Hurry Hurry Fall!

Ocotober is my most favorite month out of the year.  I'm probably one of the few people who try to rush thru Summer just to get here.  Growing up in Virginia, we were surrounded by a horizon full of water color tree's in shades of yellow, orange, red and brown.  The air always smelled of roasted tea leaves and earth, and the slight chill in the air made sweaters your other best friend.  Here in LA, we don't get to experience such bliss, but it's suppose to rain this week and I'm on my tipy toes with excitement.  I hope I get to break out my wellies and jump in puddles!

Dark Amber + Ginger Lily

This is one of my favorite smells right now. It's perfect for fall.  The warmth of the amber combined with the fresh bite of ginger lily makes me swoon.
